In collaboration with Absolut Vodka, we at Griffins’ Steakhouse, under the leadership of bar manager Pontus Fernstedt, have created our own interpretation of the classic Cosmopolitan cocktail: Cosmo on Top. Our unique version can be discovered through Absolut Vodka’s The Map and tasted on-site. The Cosmopolitan, often lovingly called “Cosmo,” is one of the most recognizable and beloved cocktails in the world. This elegant and flavorful drink belongs to the sour family and has a rich history spanning nearly a century. While some trace the roots of the Cosmopolitan back to the 1920s, most agree that the version we know today emerged in the 1980s in the USA. It was a time when bartenders were experimenting extensively with new flavors and combinations, and the Cosmopolitan quickly became a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts.
Cosmo on Top starts with a base of Absolut Original vodka and sparkling wine, providing a fresh and sparkling beginning. On top, you’ll find an entire Cosmopolitan in the form of a light and airy foam made from Absolut Citron, Triple Sec, lime juice, and cranberry juice. To create the perfect texture, sugar and egg white are also used. This brunch drink is inspired by the iconic “Sex and the City” and combines classic elegance with a modern twist. It is finished with a delicate touch of orange powder that enhances both the flavor and presentation.
